Riga will host Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics 2015

The leading technology startup conference in the Baltics "Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics 2015" after taking place in Vilnius for three years in a row, this autumn moves to Latvia. It will rock Riga on November 7. It is the biggest tech startup event in the Baltic region that brings together more than 650 startup and tech talent, investors, executives and media to share the experience and know-how of Silicon Valley. Started in 2012 in Vilnius and organized by Enterprise Lithuania and Startuyp Lithunia as a big success until now it has attracted more than 6000 participants already.

The conference theme is “Money goes where talent grows” to highlight the value of ideas and talented teams. “Great companies can be born anywhere, whether it’s Silicon Valley, Amsterdam or Riga. If we have ideas and talented teams, healthy startup ecosystem and ambition to solve global problems and thus to scale the business, money will follow,” says Uldis Leiterts, the founder of Latvian startup success story,  web's favourite data visualization service Infogr.am and the initiator of “Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics 2015” in Riga.

The Baltic states in the Nordics is where to look for promising ideas and new talent in technology, ambitious youth entrepreneurs who speak several languages and welcoming infrastructure with one of the fastest internet in the world. In recent years, the small startup scene in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania has been booming. “We should learn from the global success stories – and be aware – Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn are becoming the magnets for both talent and capital,” says Dagnija Lejiņa, CEO of "Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics 2015".

The conference attendees will be addressed by 10 speakers from the Silicon Valley, as well as regional startup success stories, among them 500 Startups, GVA LaunchGurus, TransferWise, Ask.fm, Infogr.am and others.

“Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics 2015” will also host TechHub Riga Academy Fall 2015, an opportunity for promising startups to join an intensive 1-day boot-camp with Silicon Valley mentors, pitch their idea for investors on the SV2B main stage and compete for the main prize. Pre-accelerator stage IT and tech startups from Baltics, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
