Startup of the Week: Car Car
Feb 05

This week we introduce you one more great “Startup of the week” story and this time our hero is Lithuanian startup “CarCar”. ‘It is auto-service marketplace which achieves transparency at the auto-service industry. Works very similar to UBER, one tap and you get auto-service offer directly to you. You can select auto-service according to your preference and location. After the visit, you can rate service and get executed work analysis straight to your account’, says Car Car co-founder Irmantas Šuškevičius.

What are your competitors and competitive advantages?

In the way how CarCar works, we don’t have any competitors. Competitive advantages that our product is useful not only for the users but for auto-services as well. Users find this interesting because of the rating system, vehicle history sorting, trustful and transparent auto-services net. For auto-services, besides numbers of clients, we’re offering a back-office solution which allows inner work to become more efficient.

What were the reasons behind coming up with this idea and launching this product?

Our startup was born from a practical point of view. If you have had an issue with your car at the end of the day you don’t know what auto-service is good or bad. We’ve been disappointed by auto-services impact and final outcome. Moreover, there is no rating system to evaluate service work. To solve this and other similar pain points we’ve come up with this idea.

When exactly did you launch, what were the main challenges before launching?

CarCar has launched three month ago. The main challenge was how to simplified features for MVP and launch it ASAP.

What are your target customers? Both in terms of user profile and geography?

So far our main focus is Lithuania. To be more specific our MVP available only for Vilnius residents. Our target customers all people who have cars and looking for trustful and transparent auto-services.

What are the main challenges while working on this product and how are you overcoming them?

The main challenge is to understand our potential customers and become the first thing in their mind. Current customers feedback helps us to understand market possibilities.

How are you funded? Do you seek extra funding?

We launched product MVP by our self-investment. In the long run, we’re looking for investment to global expansion.

Please introduce your founders, your core team and your broader team?

On the board, we are three co-founders: Julius Burbulis, Oleg Sviderskij, and Irmantas Šuškevičius.

How has business been so far? Could you share some numbers to illustrate this (users, sales, etc)?

CarCar visitors traffic is booming we have over 100 users and more than 20 auto-services in the pipeline.  Hard to share some income numbers so far cause for the first month we decided not to charge money yet.

Future plans, ambitions? Simply speaking – what’s next?

Future plans are very simple, we want to spread all over Lithuania, then take a place in Europe.
