This time Startup Lithuania introduces a startup “Actus Legale” which was launched in the middle of November, 2018. It is an information system or a social portal, where people can share their information and knowledge in the field of intellectual services in Lithuania and soon in other countries too. As founders of the portal Kornelijus Pivoriūnas and  Domantas Jovaišas said, people need high quality legal, financial and other services not only in their homeland, but in other foreign countries too. How does it work?

The portal provides opportunity for the interested persons to establish relationships with reliable specialists, which reliability is checked before the registration of a specialist’s account in the portal.

The portal also implements a function which guarantees financial settlement between the parties – the payment in advance paid by the customer to the portal will be paid out to the specialist after he/she provides a high quality service.

Another important function of the portal is dispute resolution. A special attention has been paid to this functionality of the portal – we aim to protect interests of the specialists and customers; therefore, the primary principle is a fair behaviour both of the specialists and the customers.

In addition to that, specialists may share their knowledge and upload their works (contract forms, consultations, reviews, etc.) in the portal in various languages, as well as to provide information about their organised events.

Who are your competitors and what are your competitive advantages?

First of all, our portal distinguishes by the fact that it is an open information system – specialists registered in the portal can be seen by all interested persons.

Second of all, our portal also has the installed exclusive functionality – communication system between the customers and specialists, guaranteed settlements, mechanism of dispute resolution and opportunity for the specialists to distribute their intellectual products.

The implementation of such solutions makes our portal a unique place.

How did you come up with this idea and why have you decided to launch this product?

People need high quality legal, financial and other services not only in their homeland, but in other foreign countries too; meanwhile, the specialists need a tool to provide information about their provided services and acquired skills for a wide circle of interested persons.

When you decided to launch this portal, what main challenges have you faced with before launching it?

The portal started its activities in the middle of November, 2018.

One of the largest challenges was to structure processes related to service provision and to transfer them to the electronic environment.

Moreover, specialists working in various fields have different operational restrictions, especially those which are related to advertising. One of the most important tasks of the portal was to coordinate the aforementioned requirements of laws with information provided in the portal.

What is your target audience? Both in terms of user profile and geography.

The portal “Actus Legale” is a specialised information system, designed to obtain, provide and share information and knowledge in the field of law, finances and other services in Lithuania and soon in other foreign countries.

Currently, our aim is to gather specialists of various fields in one place. Such database of specialists will accordingly attract customers, who are searching for them.

What main challenges do you face with while working on this product and how do you overcome them?

As mentioned above, one of the largest challenges was to structure processes related to service provision and to transfer them to the electronic environment. We have been solving such tasks for more than a year during our meetings and discussions, participated by the specialists of various areas and programmers of the portal.

How are you funded? Do you seek extra funding?

We finance the portal by our own funds so far. Of course, the portal will develop by involving foreign countries, so additional resources will also be needed. Therefore, additional funding of this project from other resources would be interesting too.

Please introduce your founders.

The founders of the portal “Actus Legale” are a lawyer Kornelijus Pivoriūnas, having more than 15 years of experience in the field of law, and head of web design and programming company JSC “Isidos” Domantas Jovaišas.

How is your business going so far? Could you share some figures (in terms of users, sales, etc.) to illustrate its success?

We have brought together specialists from almost 30 various fields within two business weeks. Some of them have already received inquiries from the customers. We hope that this number will significantly increase within the nearest two-three months and the portal will become the favourite and useful tool both for the specialists and the customers.

What are your future plans and ambitions? In short, what are your following objectives?

As mentioned above, one of the main goals is to create a convenient and informative social portal, where people could share information and knowledge in the field of intellectual services in Lithuania and other countries.

Our nearest tasks will be to implement various languages in the portal and to develop the portal both in Lithuania and outside it.

In case of a successful start, we intend to use possibilities of artificial intelligence in our search engines, as well as we have great ambitions to implement functionality of smart contracts based on block chain.
