Lithuania’s video game industry has become one of the fastest-growing creative sectors in the region, having tripled in size within the last five years and now employing more than 2,700 professionals nationwide, according to Invest Lithuania. Building on this momentum, Startup Lithuania and GameBCN have launched the third edition of GameTech, the country’s pioneering accelerator program dedicated to video game studios.

With a market currently valued at around €250 million and projected to reach €1 billion by 2030 (according to Vilnius TechFusion), video games are increasingly recognized as a strategic industry for Lithuania’s cultural and technological future. GameTech aims to consolidate this position by empowering local studios, attracting international talent, and stimulating foreign investment.

Powered by GameBCN, a Barcelona-based accelerator with international experience across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, GameTech’s third edition features mentorship, strategic guidance, and tailored resources to help participating studios scale globally.

Karolina Urbonaitė, Head of Startup Lithuania, remarked that “beyond supporting individual studios, this program is about consolidating an ecosystem that attracts investment, nurtures talent, and connects Lithuania with the global gaming community.” Joan Francesc Bañó, CEO of GameBCN, emphasized the support for the studios, noting that “we are offering them the tools, networks, and international visibility needed to grow. GameTech is helping to accelerate this transformation by bridging local creativity with global opportunities.”

Selected from 48 applications, 11 studios join the program, bringing the total to 33 supported to date:
