Israel opens the gates for Lithuanian startups

Lithuanian innovative enterprises have a unique possibility to gain experience in the startup nation Israel. The Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology Agency (MITA) together with partners from Israel launches an acceleration program for Lithuanian startups. The purpose of this program is to promote the growth of companies, foster the development of new services and technologies, also expansion into international markets. The call is open to early-stage Lithuanian startups (“pre-seed” and “seed”), which can fill application form to MITA till 4th of April 2018.

“Lithuanian innovation ecosystem is growing rapidly, and we are interested to cooperate with Israel. Both countries have similarities: are small but have qualified and talented specialists. As a governmental institution we seek to help startups to develop their innovation capacities. They need professional mentors, new contacts and knowledge. Israel provides Lithuanian startups unlimited opportunities for investment and open the gates to global market”, said MITA director Kęstutis Šetkus.

The acceleration program will take place on May 6-12th in Tel Aviv and Haifa cities, in Israel. The team of experts has been formed from professionals with 20 years experience: “Start in Haifa” risk-capitalists, investors, business leaders, business executives, technology and innovation developers, and technology scientists.

MITA will cover travel, accommodation, insurance costs and acceleration program fees in Israel.

The strategic partners of this program: Technion Institute of Technology, Haifa Seaport, Israeli Railways, Haifa Municipality, “Mati Haifa” Business Development Center, the Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA) and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania.
