2018
Aug 13

Vilnius University Business School presents a new accredited Master’s study programme MBA Entrepreneurship. This Master of Business Administration study programme is unique in Lithuania, with an aim to develop entrepreneurship competences.

‘We are pleased to introduce a new MBA programme, designed to train entrepreneurspeople who recognise new possibilities, create new jobs, and generate added value for their clients, partners and the public. The programme is intended for people seeking to transform their idea into a business, and for those responsible for product/service development in their organisations,’ explains Dr. B. Miškinienė, the Director of VU Business School.

The programme was developed in compliance with the requirements of the AMBA (Association of Master of Business Administration, USA) in consultation with experts from Technion (Israel), representatives of Amsterdam University Business School, Stanford University and Lithuanian business social partners. Various specialists in their respective fields from Lithuania and abroad will teach in the program.

MBA Entrepreneurship is a different kind of Master’s study programme. The studies last for 1 year and are based on the experiential method: as part of their studies, the students conduct an experiential entrepreneurship project, based on actual business issues, integrating and applying their growing knowledge. As the programme has an admission requirement of at least 3 years of work experience, an experience of mutual learning is of great relevance. On a lighter note, one of the advantages of this programme is the fact that, as opposed to conventional Master’s programmes, there is no Master’s thesis. The core of the studies is constituted by the experiential project,’ says Dr. B. Miškinienė, the Director of VU Business School.

As part of the MBA Entrepreneurship studies, various methods of active learning will be applied; the programme will include interactive seminars and field visits both in Lithuania and abroad. The classes will take place every second week on Fridays and Saturdays.

Students will be selected through competition. Planned study start: September 2018. Students having successfully completed the programme will be awarded the Vilnius University Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
