Lithuania’s largest startup event – Startup Fair 2025 – is soon returning to Vilnius. On October 9, the event will culminate in the Pitch Battle at LITEXPO, where innovative startup ideas will compete for the attention of experienced investors. It’s a unique opportunity for startups to showcase their businesses to an international audience, attract investment, and build valuable connections.

Success stories from last year prove just how important this event is. For the winners – including startups Psylink and BrachyDOSE – the Pitch Battle became a launchpad for their next growth stage.

Psylink: Science, Biotechnology, and the Future of Mental Health

One of last year’s winners, Psylink, is developing a biotechnology platform focused on sustainable plant- and fungi-based molecular compounds to treat mental health disorders. Using genetically modified yeast cells, they’re creating next-generation psychoplastogens – therapeutic substances aimed at helping patients for whom traditional treatments have proven ineffective.

The Psylink team brings together professionals from various fields – biotechnologists, neuroscientists, pharmaceutical, and business experts. Their combined scientific and business expertise allows them to drive the discovery of new molecules from basic research to practical application. The team shares a common mission: to create safe, effective, and sustainable solutions to mental health challenges.

According to the team, the most important lesson they’ve learned is that when tackling complex issues like mental health, innovation alone isn’t enough – bold collaboration between experts, investors, and the wider community is essential. Participating in the Pitch Battle helped them achieve exactly that – not only attracting the needed investment, but also expanding their network, boosting brand awareness, and building new partnerships.

BrachyDOSE: From the Stage to International Partnerships

Another success story is BrachyDOSE, a startup developing technology to increase the accuracy of brachytherapy cancer treatment. Their participation in Pitch Battle not only raised the company’s visibility but also opened doors to investors and the broader medtech community across Europe.

Their solution enhances the precision of brachytherapy by enabling oncologists to monitor radiotherapy procedures more accurately. This reduces damage to surrounding tissue and ensures dosage is controlled throughout treatment. The technology also shortens hospital stays and cuts treatment costs.

Following their win, BrachyDOSE received significant interest from medical institutions, universities, and suppliers in Germany, France, and Lithuania wanting to test the technology. The team says Pitch Battle was the turning point in their growth journey.
