2017
Aug 07

Please welcome Dmitriy Kravtsov, Chief Executive Officer of devtodev, who introduces company to Startup Lithuania and shares its story, challenges, and future plans of conquering the world.

So what is devtodev? How it works?

devtodev is an intelligible game analytics system that helps to identify problems in app’s performance, find the points of growth and make the most effective decisions.

It’s clear that in today’s world, creating a good game or app is only a start of the journey, since there are so many issues that teams have to solve during a project lifecycle after it is launched.

Our software helps to attract more users into a game, while spending less money on their acquisition. Then we help to retain and engage players, convert them into paying users, and therefore increase revenue of your game.

We’re offering game developers a full-cycle analytics solution with a set of standard reports that show every step of their players in detail, starting from the game tutorial and until the churn.

In order to be able to use devtodev, first step is to integrate our solution with your game, and after that we’re starting to collect and process your data. We know exactly what developers need and created the best product for them with a set of powerful and highly diversified reports that are really easy to understand for each member of the team – even for those without mathematical background.

Also, as a separate service, we provide analytical assistance and consulting to meet our customers’ needs even better. Our analysts are ready to help with the data analysis and assist in making best decisions for our customers’ projects, not even necessarily integrating data with us.

What are your competitors and competitive advantages?

Since game development industry is growing rapidly, it’s fair that there are a lot of competitors as well. Our main advantage is that we’re focusing on games and have a large number of customized reports that will make developer’s life easier and assist in making a right decision on all of the stages of the product lifecycle. Also, our product is easy to understand and among many other our advantages – it’s cheaper than all of our main competitors.

What were the reasons behind coming up with this idea and launching this product?

I was working in the game industry and at some point realized that there’s no ideal tool to analyze games – and after that decided to put all the efforts in creating one, as I’m familiar with all the struggles that game developers have on a daily basis, and have a lot of experience in the field that can be shared with the others.

When exactly did you launch, what were the main challenges before launching?

devtodev was launched in 2014 and from the very beginning it was obvious that we need the best professionals of the industry in our team. However, finding and recruiting those professionals was quite a challenge which took a while, as the game developing industry is still young, but already very competitive.

What are your target customers? Both in terms of user profile and geography?

We’re working in a B2B segment, and our target customers are game developing companies: from smaller indie ones to bigger corporations. Our product easily fits the needs of the company of any size, no matter how big or small the number of their customers and/or employees is.

devtodev helps all the team members and gives them valuable insights, and that will further result in making better decisions, improving their projects, and then – increasing revenue.

What are main challenges while working on this product and how are you overcoming them?

All of our clients need analytics and know how important it is for them. However, they are too busy to get into all the details of it, and usually don’t have enough analytical knowledge to be able to make the best decisions – especially in the very beginning, when there are too many other things to work on.

We’re overcoming these challenges by educating our clients and teaching them all the important things about analytics and how to improve their projects with it: by now, we’ve had over 60 webinars and have written more than 100 articles.

How has business been so far? Could you share some numbers to illustrate this (users, sales, etc)?

devtodev is growing and developing: at the moment, we’re processing more than 200 Gb of data per day and over 20 million events per hour. In general, we’re tracking around 1000 companies that integrated their projects with us.

Future plans, ambitions? Simply speaking – what’s next?

Our main goal is to further expand into European and American markets. Also, we will continue improving our software and implementing new awesome features and reports, so our clients will have more time for developing their products.

Furthermore, we’re continuing to educate our audience, and this autumn we’ll launch a new free online course Game Analytics: From Basics to Advanced Strategies, that will be useful both for industry novices and professionals. It will be available as a part of the Education Center on our website, where you can also find a lot of free articles, guides, ebooks, and webinars.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates from devtodev!
