Entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley, gamers from Japan and other fans of innovation met in Vilnius

Two days full of inspiring speeches, useful workshops, interesting discussions and a lot of new innovative ideas! Vilnius hosted two grand events last weekend – Live Mobile Congress, one of Europe’s largest and most-anticipated mobile industry events and youth entrepreneurship conference “Silicon Valley comes to the Baltics”.

Some highlights from the events:

  • Live Mobile Game Jam 2014 – 2D Puzzle! Hackathon started on Friday evening with more than 100 participants. 25 games have managed to make it to the end and the best teams were awarded on Sunday. The next epic puzzle game is coming from the Baltics for sure!

  • Winner of the Startup Battle was announced on Sunday evening. And the ticket to Silicon Valley and all other goodies went to the hands of Tutotoons!

  • The initiative of the Vilnius Tech Park was discussed during the Live Mobile Congress panel about Lithuania as the Hotspot for ICT Industry. Vilnius Tech Park will be a new and modern tech hub for startups and other businesses involved in the ICT industry within Lithuania. The campus should be situated in the renovated area of the Sapiegos park. Partners, involved in this project, are planning to open the Vilnius Tech Park in 2015.

  • “Young people don't care about money, they think about making the bang – they want to be cared” – this idea was expressed during the Live Mobile Congress panel about Lithuania as the best place for game developers. As gaming industry is trending now panelists agreed that we need to talk more about it in Lithuania, make it more visible or even establish special gaming courses in the local universities.
